Your day to day Your Day-to-Day Develop and execute the pre-opening procurement schedule to ensure items are delivered in accordance with the opening timeline of the property. Developing and implement purchasing strategies. Manage daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks. Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc. Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation. Coordinate with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs. Co-ordinate/manage the maintenance of office/manufacturing equipment and machinery. Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications. Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets. Working to improve purchasing systems and processes. Train and certify new colleagues in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system. Ensure all procurement HACCP supply chain requirements are achieved. Ensure the quality policy for the Purchasing Department is implemented and managed. Work with the Chief Engineer to ensure our procurement strategy is in line with our green initiative program. Financial Management: Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending the public exhibitions, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies. Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieved. Ensures profits and losses are documented accurately. Monitors all taxes that apply, ensuring that taxes are current, collected, and/or accrued. Manages department's controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals. Additional Responsibilities: Understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the IHG Colleagues’ Code of Conduct and the Hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health, and Safety. Promote efficiency, confidence, courtesy, and an extremely high standard of social skills. Generally promote and ensure good inter-departmental relations. Display a pleasant manner and positive attitude at all times and promote a good company image to guests and colleagues. Demonstrate pride in the workplace and personal appearance at all times when representing the hotel thus identifying a high level of commitment.
What we need from you We’re looking for someone with tenacity, a positive attitude, boundless energy, and some Hotel Indigo® swagger. You’ll manage the pre-opening procurement for the opening of this incredible property. Working closely with the various departments, your role is critical to ensure the supply chain is established for this challenging location so that we can deliver a true Indigo experience for our guests. You’ll be a master multitasker and be comfortable with any request across all areas. No procurement challenge is too small as you leap tall buildings with a single bound
