    Asset Description

    Sur IPP is a 2000 MW CCGT power plant. The Plant includes three power blocks, two of them comprising two gas turbines, one steam turbine and three generators and the third block being a one on one configuration with one Gas Turbine, one Steam Turbine and the corresponding generators. The gas turbines are the latest Siemens SGT4000F (94.3A) gas turbines. The Steam Turbines are Fuji Electric Systems condensing steam turbines and the HRSGs are triple pressure (with reheat) supplementary fired.

    Job Purpose

    Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, the Lead Electrical Engineer will be accountable to lead a team of engineers and technicians to fulfil the day to day electrical maintenance activities at the power and desalination plant. Additionally, the Lead Electrical Engineer is responsible to support the management of the major outages of the plant, ensuring that the plant meets availability, reliability, efficiency, generation and cost targets, safely and within strict environmental limits.

    Education
  • An accredited degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated competence at engineering level with adequate education and training supportedExperience
  • Leading and Managing People skills with at least 5 years of total operation experience with progressive experience as auxiliary, boiler, turbine and control room operator.
  • Experience preferred in CCGT, Gas Turbines and a wide range of auxiliary equipment.
  • Budget reporting
  • Commercial awareness and PPA/LTSA knowledgeCore Competencies
  • Good Electrical engineering foundation and practical knowledge of how it applies to modern power plant and desalination
    plant technologies.
  • A thorough understanding of the skills required by Electrical Engineers and Technicians to undertake quality maintenance activities.
  • Knowledge of contract management.
  • Power plant engineering concepts.
  • Strong understanding of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment management systems and safety rules.
  • Working knowledge of commercial contracts and agreements (PPA,OMA,GSA etc).
  • Budget preparation, planning and cost control.
  • Ability to formulate and communicate strategic goals and directions.
  • Good command of the English language.
  • Good planning and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, IT and interpersonal skills.
  • A Working experience and knowledge of computerised maintenance management systems.(CMMS).
  • Ability to build and work with multi-cultural and multi – disciplinary staff.

  • Supporting the management of the long term (Siemens) gas turbine service contract with respect to planned and unplanned outage services of gas turbines
  • Development of routine plant maintenance through the use of CMMS.
  • Successful preparations and completion of planned shutdowns conducted by Siemens
  • Implementation of electrical engineering practices in accordance with OEM and international standards
  • Support the development and implementation of a Long Term engineering strategic plan
  • Life cycle management for all electrical systems
  • Completing the planned shutdowns within time and budget
  • Safe and efficient delivery of high levels of commercial availability within environment limits
  • Make decisions, or assist others to make decisions, to resolve plant maintenance problems with immediate, medium and long term consequences
  • Lead and motivate the team by setting appropriate people and plant related performance measures
  • Deliver outcomes, in all areas of work, consistent with the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental policies
  • Ensure Company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures are followed.
  • Participate in internal / external Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental audits and monitor relevant findings
  • Ensure all procedures, documentation, drawings and manuals are kept up to date and necessary training is completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure suitable training programs are in place, both for individual development and engineering competence, and develop appropriate succession plans for key staff
  • Prepare a budget for maintenance and provide regular reports of expenditure, explaining variances, potential risks and/or problems and recommending solutions
  • Support an environment and mechanism where communication and cooperation between the Maintenance and Operation teams, as well as with Admin Staff, is maintained at excellent levels
  • Ensure CMMS is used properly.
  • Submission of required report/s.
  • Continues improvement in the process of work.
