Role Description

This role involves leading product and go-to-market strategies for Canonical's Networking sector, focusing on Smart NICs and ToR switches. It requires a strategic thinker with technical expertise and leadership skills to drive product development, market engagement, and ecosystem collaboration. The ideal candidate will have experience in software engineering management, with a passion for open source and technology innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead Ubuntu and Ubuntu Core integration as the OS for Smart NIC products.
  2. Shape development roadmaps for Smart NIC and ToR switch features.
  3. Engage with the ecosystem and key customers.
  4. Drive product success and market strategy.
  5. Oversee the entire product lifecycle from conception to delivery.
  6. Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and management teams.
  7. Conduct market research, analyze trends, and gather customer feedback.
  8. Develop and communicate product vision and updates.
  9. Support sales efforts through customer engagement and product knowledge.
Qualifications
  • Strong academic background and understanding of Linux and open source community.
  • Experience in product management within the software industry.
  • Deep knowledge of hyperscale and enterprise data center architectures.
  • Understanding of network protocols, hardware, kernel, and libraries.
  • Familiarity with Smart NICs, ToR switches, and related ecosystems.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with vertical markets like Telco, Finance, Automotive.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Familiarity with embedded devices and ecosystems.
