Job Description

We are looking for a General Manager.

Company Industry: Switchgears

Responsibilities
  1. Product Testing & Approval: Liaising with DCRP, Electricity Utilities, Type Testing Agencies, Certification Agencies, Ministries & Government Agencies, JV partner Jyoti Ltd.
  2. Administration: Liaising with Ministry of Manpower, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Royal Oman Police.
  3. Marketing & Sales: Liaising with Electricity Utilities, EPC Contractors, Private Industries, Ministries & Government Agencies, information collection of market trends, specifications, new projects, competition.
  4. Tendering: Vetting of Technical & Commercial Specification, Preparation of BOM & Cost Estimates, obtain price quotations from major suppliers, preparation and submission of tenders.
  5. Sales: Order follow-up negotiation & acquisition, plan engineering, approvals and delivery schedules, liaising with Electricity Utilities / Clients and EPC Contractors, organize engineering & material approval, release engineering & material indent for design, planning and purchase of equipment, manage inspections, dispatch clearances and payment collection.
  6. Liaising with JV Partner Jyoti Ltd: Senior management for business environment, product enhancement, testing and certification, overall planning, QC, Sales Department – Pricing, Ordering, Scheduling & Dispatch of 11kV material, Engineering Department – Engineering design and drawings, R&D Department – Product Type Testing, Certification & Specification enhancement.
  7. Operations: Setting the sales and performance target, setting and monitoring profitability, monitoring and deciding on product feature upgrades, design & engineering – review engineering design and drawings for approval from Client/Utilities, purchase & planning – for relay, meters, devices, material and ordering as per production plan, material receipt & storage/issue control, manufacturing scheduling – as per the contract/order commitment, manpower deployment & shop floor management planning – as per manufacturing plan, quality control – in line with company standards, ISO, UL, DCRP, client requirement, testing and inspection & dispatch scheduling - as per the company standards, ISO, UL, DCRP, client requirement, site work planning and scheduling, aftersales services - technical review, repair & maintenance and defect analysis, routine calibration & maintenance of testing & measuring machines, review of the ISO processes, HR review and planning.
  8. Accounts and Finance: Annual budgets, monthly sales, fund planning, banking & funds allocation, manpower budgeting, payment follow-up, liaising with banks, payments of lease rents.
  9. General Administration: Review and renewal of commercial & lease documents, MIS updating & dissemination, manpower budgeting, staff appraisal, manpower recruitment, operation and maintenance of factory.
Essential Qualifications


• Bachelor of Engineering preferably in Electrical Stream, having degree/diploma in Engineering Management / Business Management will have an added weightage.

Desired Candidate Profile


• A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in operations and maintenance management in switchgear industry.

• Demonstrable experience in strategic planning and execution in a senior management role.

• Experience in budget management and financial accountability.

• Familiarity with the regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements in the operational domain.

• Experience with safety and quality assurance practices within the O&M sector.
