Wood is recruiting for a Project Controls Engineer to join its Projects team focusing on delivering across FEED and Detail design scopes of work. In this role, you will be responsible to provide Cost & Planning support to projects during the Front-End Engineering, Detailed Design & Procurement phases of a Project.

Position is based in Oman for a long-term assignment.

Responsibilities

The Project Controls Engineer will be responsible:

  1. Provide cost and planning engineering support for projects as required.
  2. Develop and maintain Cost Time Resource catalogue for Projects within your portfolio of work.
  3. Manage and maintain Work Breakdown Structures, project controls systems and interfaces with financial accounting systems within existing Procedures and Guidelines.
  4. Develop and Maintain Project Plans and schedules, using standard business software such as Primavera P6.
  5. Monitor progress at agreed intervals, ensuring Progress and hours spent are reported accurately.
  6. Advise Project Engineer / Lead of deviations to plan, and recommend corrective action to maintain the schedule or cost.
  7. Produce regular progress and cost reports, plus ad-hoc reports as required for the Project.
  8. Provide information for a database of cost and schedule historical data for benchmarking and KPI development.
  9. Develop and maintain project change control register.
  10. Create demonstrable value for customers by understanding their drivers and critical success factors.
  11. Capture/apply internal and external learnings and incorporate improvements.
  12. Deliver continuously improving performance, benchmarked as top tier in the industry.
  13. Time write correctly each week.
  14. Ensure own discipline work is successfully delivered on time with quality.
  15. Contribute to excellent HSE performance throughout the project life cycle.
  16. Maintain effective interfaces and relationships within/between disciplines.
  17. Identify areas of standardization in own discipline and contribute.
  18. Train & coach own discipline trainees on project controls.
  19. Implement, practice, and monitor Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001-2015 and API Q2 2nd edition requirements.

Experience

  1. Minimum 3 years in FEED/Engineering and Minimum 10 years in oil & gas Experience.
  2. Engineering degree or equivalent Technical Qualification with relevant industry experience.
  3. Good Computer skills including MS Office, Primavera and other planning software and tools.
