Position: Senior Analyst– Economic Diversification Investments (Tourism)

Reports to: Manager - Economic Diversification Investments (Tourism)

Job Purpose:

To review new investment opportunities, analyze, monitor, and report the performance of the existing portfolios in full coordination with the Manager – Tourism in order to ensure a data driven approach and enable an informed decision making and a timely monitoring and reporting of key activities.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in market research efforts on Tourism's sector's focuses and support in carrying out activities related to analysis and research to assist the Manager – Tourism in making well-informed decisions.
• Conduct analysis and generate reports as required using the appropriate tools, charts, graphs, spreadsheets, technical reports, etc. to support the Tourism team in making sound decisions.
• Initiate preliminary and due diligence for investment opportunities.
• Provide data analysis to assist in the formulation of the Economic Diversification Investment's Strategy in terms of investment period, investment size, and type of transactions.
• Run analysis to generate reports to the investment committee on the operational performance of portfolios and interpret results.
• Evaluate projects that are recommended by OIA's portfolio companies and provide assessment and recommendations to participate in the decision making of the new investments' opportunities.
• Support deals recommendations and operational reviews by analyzing financial information to forecast business performance.
• Prepare the analytical financial models allowing various assumptions for all new investment opportunities as well as existing companies to predict their performance and enable well-informed decisions.
• Ensure authenticity of important documents related to Economic Diversification Investments and ensure appropriate filing and record keeping to minimize risks in case of litigation.
• Assist in developing and maintaining established contacts with target brokers, agents, Investment banks, etc. and participate in negotiations for leads to widen the investment network and stay abreast of the market trends.
• Assist Manager – Tourism in strategic efforts related to portfolio optimization, review, and recommendations.
• Gather necessary information to help the Manager – Tourism in deciding whether a potential investment is a strategic fit.
• Comply with the implementation of Tourism policies and procedures, to ensure that all relevant procedural and legislative requirements are fulfilled.
• Comply with all relevant health, safety, and quality requirements, in order to guarantee employee safety and legislative compliance.
• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account 'leading best practices', improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or any other relevant field
• CFA, CMA, CPA, FMVA, FRM is advantageous
• 3 to 5 years of related work experience, Preference will be given to candidates with sector expertise in Tourism.
• Fluency in English is essential
• Fluency in Arabic is advantageous
• Proficiency in MS Office is essential (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
• Experience with business related software is desirable
