We have an urgent requirement for a SQL DBA with our banking client based in Oman.

Job Purpose:
  • Proficiency in SQL Server versions 2000, 2005, 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022.
  • Experience working on on-premises to Azure Cloud migrations.
  • Hands-on knowledge in clustering installations for SQL Server (2008 onwards), including both native and clustered instances. Implemented CIS benchmarks and security best practices.
  • Experience in security patch installations and version upgrades.
  • Familiarity with backup tools such as Commvault, NetBackup, EMC NetWorker, and Rubrik.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like BMC TrueSight, Foglight SQL, OEM, SolarWinds, and Redgate.
  • Hands-on experience in setting up and configuring SQL Server transactional push replications, supporting replication agent failures, and resolving latency issues.
  • Reviewing SQL Server Agent jobs, tasks, and SSIS packages for production monitoring.
  • Expertise in T-SQL query analysis, execution plans, and performance tuning.
  • Maintaining SQL Server and database user access and permissions.
  • Supporting all production SQL databases, including backup/restore, installation, upgrades, and configuration.
  • Troubleshooting application sluggishness and performance issues.
  • Administering complex ETL processes using SQL Server (SSIS).
  • Implementing advanced database configurations such as mirroring, log shipping, replication, partitioning, and clustering.
  • Monitoring database performance using execution plans, SQL Profiler, and query analysis tools.
  • Proficiency in Transact-SQL and relational database concepts.
  • Experience with system and database monitoring and performance tools.
  • Basic programming (algorithm) skills.

This position requires a candidate with a comprehensive skill set in SQL Server administration, migration, security, performance tuning, and monitoring tools.
