SOHAR Port and Freezone is a deep-sea port and freezone in the Sultanate of Oman, managed by SOHAR Industrial Port Company (SIPC), a 50:50 joint venture between the Port of Rotterdam and the Sultanate of Oman.
Job Description- Develop Strategies: Formulate and implement strategies to enhance SOHAR's competitiveness as a logistics and industrial hub.
- Process Analysis: Evaluate current logistics and industrial processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop solutions to address challenges and inefficiencies.
- Technology Integration: Research and recommend emerging logistics technologies to improve operations. Support decision-making processes for organizational leaders.
- Industry Trends: Stay informed about industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to logistics and supply chain management.
- Risk Assessment: Analyze potential solutions to problems and evaluate the benefits of different decisions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with government and key stakeholders to improve logistics performance and provide insights into market dynamics.
- Competitive Analysis: Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking to ensure SOHAR's strategic positioning. Perform cargo forecasting at macro and micro levels to support strategic planning.
- Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams to execute projects and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and successful implementation. Provide regular reports, dashboards, and updates to senior management on logistics performance, initiatives, and strategic recommendations.
- Data Collection & Analysis: Gather, analyze, and validate business data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of proven professional experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a similar analytical role at a regional or international logistics or industrial hub.
- Relevant professional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM). Familiarity with statistical analysis, data mining, and predictive modeling techniques is a plus.
- Proficiency in BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, QlikView) and data visualization techniques.
- Strong analytical skills to analyze complex data sets and derive meaningful insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments and external partners.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
