About the job: Sr. Design & Commissioning Engineer Security & TelecomJob Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed design drawings, system layouts, and technical documents for CCTV, Access Control, Public Address (PA), Intrusion Detection, PAGA, and Fiber Optic networks.
- Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies to assess security and telecom system requirements.
- Ensure integration of security & telecom systems with civil infrastructure, coordinating with structural and MEP teams.
- Evaluate and recommend suitable telecom network architectures, including wired and wireless communication systems.
- Plan, oversee, and execute the installation, configuration, and commissioning of security & telecom systems at project sites.
- Perform pre-commissioning tests, functional testing, and final commissioning of installed systems.
- Conduct troubleshooting, rectifications, and performance validation to ensure system functionality.
- Coordinate with civil teams to align telecom infrastructure with system requirements.
- Ensure proper earthing, grounding, and power supply for equipment.
- Collaborate with civil, electrical, and instrumentation teams for smooth installation processes.
- Prepare and maintain commissioning reports, test procedures, and documentation for client approval.
- Ensure compliance with Oman regulations, international standards (NFPA, NEC, BICSI, SIRA, ITU, ISO 27001), and industry guidelines.
- Analyze hardware and software requirements for Security & Telecom Project BOQ and design accordingly.
- Review technical correctness of MAS and procurement processes.
- Design and engineer Security & Telecom systems, including Access Control, physical security, intrusion detection, Video Management, Fiber optics, Cabling, Networking, Telephony, and Storage.
- Define technical architecture components, including hardware, software, OS, and performance monitoring, aligned with compliance standards.
- Complete system design and engineering to core standards; act as technical design owner and SME.
- Guide and review system design layouts and installation specifications.
- Recommend technologies to meet project objectives; support sales, procurement, and service teams.
- Maintain expertise in hardware/software integration principles; stay current through industry seminars and training.
- Ensure successful Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, and client approvals.
- Develop coherent technology architecture and system integration plans.
- Inspect, review, and approve site erection, cabling, and termination works.
- Coordinate with vendors and clients for system implementation and testing.
- Maintain technical documentation, including reports, checklists, and cause-and-effect matrices.
- Manage teams to deliver client SLAs without NCRs, meeting expectations.
- Provide Level 2 & 3 support for security & telecom systems like CCTV, Access Control, Gates, HVM, PIDS, Fences, BMS, LCS, AV, ICT.
- Oversee system upgrades, updates, migrations, and expansions, ensuring compatibility and latest versions per OEM guidelines.
- Maintain client relationships through SSA/CarePlus/SUP renewals and support.
- Conduct training sessions for customers and internal teams.
- Lead technical presentations and POCs/demos for clients.
- Ensure ongoing client satisfaction throughout project lifecycle.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field (Master's preferred).
Certifications such as BICSI, SIRA, Cisco, Fiber Optic are advantageous.
Project management certifications like PMP, RCDD are preferred.
Experience:
- 10-15 years in managing large EPC security projects in Oil & Gas sector.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the Middle East, with a valid Oman driving license.
- At least 5 years handling civil-related telecom & security projects in GCC (preferably Oman).
- Experience with system commissioning, SAT, client approvals, and meeting contractual and product specifications.
