The AV Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining audio-visual equipment used for meetings, conferences, weddings, and other hotel events. The role ensures smooth technical execution of events, supports guests and clients with AV needs, and maintains all AV systems and equipment in optimal condition.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

• Set up and operate AV equipment such as microphones, speakers, projectors, video monitors, conference systems, lighting systems, and video conferencing tools.
• Provide on-site technical support during events to ensure seamless audio-visual performance.
• Assist clients and event organizers with AV requirements, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Troubleshoot and resolve AV-related technical issues before and during events.
• Coordinate with the Events, Banquets, and Engineering teams to ensure AV readiness.
• Conduct routine inspection, maintenance, and inventory control of AV equipment.
• Ensure proper storage, transportation, and safety of all AV gear and components.
• Maintain technical documentation, including setup instructions and troubleshooting guides.
• Stay updated on the latest AV technologies and recommend upgrades when necessary.
• Support hybrid or virtual meetings and events with technical setup and management.
  
  

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

• High school diploma or equivalent; degree or certification in Audio/Visual Technology, Electronics, or related field is a plus.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in AV support, preferably in a hotel, convention center, or event production setting.
• Proficient in operating sound systems, projectors, lighting boards, video conferencing platforms, and other AV equipment.
• Knowledge of cabling, signal flow, basic IT networking, and AV troubleshooting.
• Good communication skills and customer-service orientation.
• Ability to lift and move AV equipment, sometimes under tight timeframes.
• Flexibility to work varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event needs.
