The Vehicle Chief Mechanic supervises the reconstitution, preservation and maintenance of all USAF vehicle assets. Complies with all applicable USAF Technical Order (TO) requirements. Ensures compliance with all applicable USAF mandatory requirements, Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).

Principal Accountabilities

1. Ensures monthly reconstitution, preservation and inspection goals are attained.
2. Performs receipt Limited Technical Inspections (LTI) within prescribed guidelines.
3. Ensures that the most economic form of repair is performed on all USAF Vehicle assets.
4. Prioritizes work according to goals and schedules.
5. Inspects and prepares USAF vehicle assets for air/land/sea movement.
6. Supervises assigned auto mechanics and electricians.
7. Supervises and conducts training of all assigned maintenance technicians.
8. Ensures safety practices and housekeeping is maintained to the highest standard.
9. Ensures that all tools and equipment are serviceable, accounted for and secured.
10. Stores and disposes of all hazardous materials in accordance with Amentum Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
11. Conducts repair parts research to ensure only required repair parts are requested and determines the local availability of required repair parts.
12. Supervises and inspects all Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) actions to ensure completion within prescribed guidelines.
13. Ensures correct and expeditious completion of work orders.
14. Inspects completed vehicle repairs to ensure quality assurance is maintained.
15. Ensures unserviceable and unused serviceable repair parts are returned to the supply facility.
16. Enters and updates data on the Quality Management System database.
17. Performs other duties as assigned.
18. Works in maintenance shop or warehouse environment and may be required to work outdoors for extended periods.

Minimum Requirements

1. Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to understand, speak, read and write English at an intermediate level.
2. Ability to read technical orders and comprehend detailed instructions and be able to diagnose electrical and hydraulic schematics required.
3. Must possess a valid home country driver's license and ability to obtain host nation driver's license.
4. Will be required to operate material handling equipment and light to heavy military type vehicles.
5. High School diploma or equivalent required.
6. Recognized national qualification in vehicle maintenance at a higher level required.
7. Seven years' experience in vehicle repair required.
8. Two years' experience in a supervisory capacity required.
9. Will be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment.
10. Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to prescribed procedures and as required for task being performed.
11. Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting/pushing/pulling minimum of 50 lbs. and performing extensive work handling/lifting equipment.
12. Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Proficiency in the use of personal computers with Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office to include a minimum, Excel and Word programs preferred.
