Position: Assistant Manager Finance

The Assistant Manager Finance is responsible for managing the financial health of the hotel in order to promote success and growth while maintaining legal financial practices. Duties typically include financial planning to determine how to pay off liabilities and grow the business, reviewing financial documents to ensure compliance, and collaborating with other departments to achieve monetary goals.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Managing the finance team, providing leadership and direction.
  • Working closely with the Purchasing team to ensure all standards are followed.
  • Supervising the accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and income audit functions.
  • Ensuring the monthly payroll is carried out with a high level of accuracy and in line with company policies and SOPs.
  • Ensuring all Finance Operations comply with Internal Audit policies.
  • Ensuring all Finance Operations comply with applicable legislation and external audit requirements.
  • Preparing and posting journal entries, ensuring efficient completion, and managing the month-end process.
  • Overseeing the cash flow process.
  • Ensuring financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring and controlling procedures.
  • Participating in the recruitment and training of new colleagues.
  • Reviewing and completing monthly P&L reports, conducting monthly Balance Sheet reviews, and reporting to key stakeholders.
  • Partnering with operational and support departments.
  • Ensuring a strong control environment within the hotel.
  • Reviewing and authorizing POs and expenses as required by company policy.
  • Reviewing and authorizing all refunds and allowances.
  • Reviewing and approving banking transactions within approved authorization limits.
  • Assisting in financial audit preparation in conjunction with the group reporting manager.

  • Possess excellent communication skills.
