Role Objectives:

To prepare and conduct CAR 147 type training (theoretical & practical elements) & CAR 145 training course in relation to Oman Air Engineering & Maintenance operations, ensuring up to date knowledge is imparted to all Engineering staff within the guidelines set by the company in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and conduct CAR 147 approved type training courses & CAR 145 training courses

2. Ensure the course materials, training aids, presentations etc. are of high quality keeping in line with CAA-DGCAR Oman CAR 66 and 147 requirements and other international aircraft maintenance training standards and best practices

3. Work closely with the Training Coordinator to schedule and organize training sessions

4. Emphasize and enforce safety protocols during all training activities

5. Conduct Aircraft visits as instructed by the Lead Theory Instructor

6. Use CBT and other approved training devices/means such as virtual aircraft to supplement theoretical elements of the approved course as stipulated in TNA

7. Compile and update course notes and examination question databank to account for aircraft modification(s) and/or procedure changes, thus ensuring continuous validity of training and examination materials

8. Suggest improvement(s) to Lead Theory Instructor to enhance training effectiveness

9. Prepare and conduct approved examinations

10. Conduct practical training and assessments to provide hands-on experience with aircraft systems, components, and maintenance procedures in line with MTOE

11. Stay abreast with aviation regulations and industry standards related to B2 aircraft maintenance

12. Perform any other task as allocated by Lead Theory Instructor

13. Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the Management.

Education & Experience requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Degree or Holder of an EASA part 66 License or an ICAO Aircraft Maintenance License

- Post-graduate degree would be an asset

- Minimum of 4 years of Engineering/Maintenance experience (for Internal recruits) while Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in civil aviation environment including 2 years of teaching experience on at least one aircraft type in Oman Air's fleet (for External recruits)

- A recognized Certificate of Recognition or equivalent issued by EASA/CAR 147 approved training organization for level III type training on at least one aircraft type in Oman Air's fleet in categories (B2) for Internal Recruits While for External recruits a recognized Certificate of Recognition or equivalent issued by EASA/CAR 147 approved training organization for level III type training on at least two aircraft types in Oman Air's fleet in categories (B2)

- Possess "Instructional Techniques"/Train the Trainer course from an approved training organization

- Experience in Technical training (for external recruits) with good sound knowledge of CAR 66 & CAR 147 CAA Oman Regulations for (both External & Internal recruits)
