As an Accounting Associate, you'll play an essential role in supporting our clients by ensuring accurate financial data, preparing reports, and facilitating smooth day-to-day accounting operations. You'll work directly with small and medium-sized businesses, primarily startups, providing a range of accounting and bookkeeping services using cloud-based tools. Key Responsibilities

  1. Day-to-Day Bookkeeping: Process accounts payable and receivable, manage payroll, and reconcile bank statements using our cloud-based platform Odoo.
  2. Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial reports, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow reports, tailored to client needs.
  3. Client Support: Communicate with clients regularly to address questions, explain financial information, and provide guidance on basic accounting processes.
  4. Account Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts and identify any discrepancies.
  5. Budget and Forecast Assistance: Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to help clients manage their financial health.
  6. Process Improvement: Suggest and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and automation within the accounting function.
  7. Tax Preparation Support: Assist with tax documentation and support tax preparation activities in collaboration with senior accountants.
  8. Financial Systems Management: Work with cloud-based tools to manage client accounts, ensuring data security and accuracy.

Qualifications

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; or equivalent work experience.
  2. Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, with a client-first approach to solving financial issues. Ability to work independently as well as part of a remote team.
  3. Analytical Abilities: Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and ability to spot trends in financial data.
  4. Certifications (Preferred): ACCA or bookkeeping certification is a plus.
