Shift Engineer

Shift Engineer will oversee and manage the operational activities during the shift, monitor operational performance and provide technical support to ensure efficiency, productivity, and safety of our plant, whilst achieving the shift production targets.

Operations Management

1. Monitor plant performance and provide operations engineering support dealing with all process/operational related matters and activities during the shift to ensure optimal plant operations in a timely manner.
2. Oversee the day-to-day activities of shift staff and manage all plant operating activities ensuring they are executed in a safe and efficient manner so that the operational area meets required targets.
3. Review all current work instructions, SOPs, processes, and procedures and recommend necessary changes to the Operations Manager/Deputy Operations Manager/O&M Manager, ensuring process efficiency and optimization of resources.
4. Monitor operational performance and make quick decisions to correct abnormalities or disturbances, taking corrective actions during a state of emergency.
5. Coordinate with all other departments for activities that are related to plant operations during the shift and ensure their timely execution as per the plan.

Technical Guidance

1. Provide technical expertise and support to the team, advise on optimization of operations for each unit in accordance with ACWA NOMAC's HSE policies and procedures to meet required standards.
2. Implement special testing programs as necessary to evaluate and resolve process problems, review operating logs, process control printouts, daily/weekly/special reports and participate in the analysis of respective causes of problems, recommending changes or alterations to operating parameters in order to avoid recurrence of problems.

Maintenance Support

1. Collaborate with the Maintenance team during the shift and ensure that any minor/major activities like commissioning and start-up activities are completed in a safe manner, as per the established plan.
2. Ensure strict adherence to all relevant HSSE and permit to work system, instructions and controls and procedures are complied with so that the safety of employees and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.

Who will fit:

1. Bachelor degree holder in Engineering.
2. 7-10 years' experience in power generation plants with 2 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in CCGT technology.

Skills

1. Knowledge of relevant plant equipment.
2. SAP working knowledge is preferred.
3. New IMS system awareness/working knowledge is preferred.
4. Project Management.
