Summary

We are seeking an Engineering - Team Leader to support our Engineering Manager in overseeing departmental operations and ensuring the functionality and safety of all mechanical, electrical, and building systems. This role involves shift leadership and cross-departmental coordination to ensure seamless service delivery and high maintenance standards throughout the resort.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build teamwork and enhance the team's commitment to their work and the hotel.
  • Understand and embody the hotel's vision and brand personality in daily practices.
  • Train staff according to hotel standards.
  • Recognize and address individual performance issues fairly and promptly.
  • Schedule employees in line with business needs.
  • Participate in departmental and hotel problem-solving teams during meetings.
  • Communicate professionally with guests, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Keep your supervisor informed of relevant matters.
  • Maintain a professional appearance per grooming standards.
  • Be flexible to meet business needs.
  • Support and assist guests, colleagues, and suppliers.
  • Maintain a tidy and well-kept work environment, supporting Green Globe initiatives.
  • Be punctual and reliable.
  • Know emergency procedures (fire, flood, bomb threat, etc.).
  • Comply with the Employee Handbook standards.
  • Follow all instructions from your supervisor.
  • Supervise maintenance and repair of utilities and systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Monitor and supervise contractor work on utility projects.
  • Perform metal machining, fabrication, and welding tasks as required.
  • Plan, schedule, and ensure proper staffing and resources for tasks.
  • Assist in developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs.
  • Prepare reports on progress and trends, providing recommendations.
  • Train new team members.
  • Handle personnel actions such as hiring, performance reviews, and promotions.
  • Estimate resources needed for projects and requisition supplies.
  • Inspect completed work for compliance and quality.
  • Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities for repair needs.
  • Develop and execute small-scale projects, estimating resources accurately.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and service.
  • Report safety hazards immediately.
  • Complete safety training and participate in emergency response procedures.
  • Perform other engineering duties as assigned.

Technical Expertise:

  • Distribute work orders and ensure proficiency of shift team.
  • Inspect equipment and systems regularly, logging conditions.
  • Handle abnormality or breakdown situations promptly, informing superiors.
  • Monitor utility consumption and assist in maintaining efficiency.
  • Train staff in equipment operation and safety procedures.
  • Participate in hotel emergency teams and safety training.

Environmental Sustainability Responsibilities:

  • Follow health, safety, and security policies.
  • Support environmentally friendly operations.
  • Implement Earth Check principles within scope.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate in Engineering (electronic, electrical, or mechanical).
  • 4-5 years of experience in hotel engineering operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and BMS platforms.
  • Willing to work shifts and extended hours.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Service-oriented with a commitment to hospitality standards.
