Position: H2S/BA Technician
Location: Doha, Qatar
Availability: Immediate
Mandatory: Oman Driving License
Job Role: Responsible for conducting routine preventive maintenance checks, servicing, refilling, and inspection of all Breathing Air Equipment. Additionally responsible for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of Gas Detection Systems. Other tasks may be assigned as required.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for rigging up and maintaining cascade breathing air systems and electronic gas detection systems on operating rigs and rigless segments.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe environment when drilling through H2S, responsible for advising on safer practices when dealing with H2S and general safety.
- Installs, inspects, repairs, and tests fire equipment, hydrostatic test equipment, and monitoring devices.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with H2S safety procedures and protocols on-site.
- Conduct routine inspections, testing, and calibration of H2S detection and monitoring devices.
- Conducts detailed visual inspections and system functional tests of various systems and equipment for the purpose of reporting any deficiencies and corrective action as well as recommendations to customer.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, inspections, and incident reports.
- Performs receipt, inspection, cleaning, servicing, reassembling and testing of various SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) and other respiratory equipment and breathing air equipment in accordance with approved testing and service procedures.
- Takes care in use of all site specific, facility and customer required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of Breathing Air Equipment, including SCBAs, cascade systems, and breathing air compressors.
- Oman Driving License is Mandatory
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the installation and maintenance (including calibration and troubleshooting) of Gas Detection Systems across various OEMs and models (preferred).
- Ability to perform detailed visual inspections and functional system tests to identify deficiencies, recommend corrective actions, and provide technical feedback to customers.
