Job Description

Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country's crude oil production and natural gas supply.

Provide Projects/Assets with advice and support to effectively implement HSE & SD Management in the execution of site activities.

• Bachelor of Science/ Engineering/HSE Management or equivalent.
• A minimum of 7 year's experience in HSE Management System within Oil and Gas Company.
• A minimum of 3 years experience in the field providing HSE advice in an Oil and Gas Company.
• A self-starter and able to work with limited supervision. Strong communication skills in a multi cultural environment and recognized Hearts and Minds experience are essential.

• Guide and support the Project/Asset Teams in the demonstration of visible, felt and caring HSE Leadership and Commitment.
• Support Asset leadership, Contract Holders and Company Site Representatives in the effective implementation of the HSE Management System at the Project sites, including focus on worker welfare, health and hygiene; provide guidance in its proper usage and carry out HSE assurance activities.
• Contribute to the development of the HSE Monitoring Plan as per Project requirements and support its implementation through regular participation in monitoring activities and follow-up on identified remedial actions.
• Support the Project HSE Lead / Lead HSE Advisor in review of Contractor HSE Plans and other HSE deliverables.
• Provide guidance and support to the Project (PDO & Contractor) in developing and improving HSE deliverables such as HSE Plans, HRAs, JHAs, SIMOPs Plans, ERPs and other HEMP activities.
• Promote the use of safety behavioural tools such as STOP in the Project. Make use of the data from these tools to identify areas for improvement. Support the Project in developing and implementing HSE behaviour improvement initiatives.
• Communicate relevant Company HSE initiatives, Government legislation and HSE lateral learnings to the Project in order to raise awareness, encourage continuous learning and behavioural changes.
• Lead/participate in HSE Audits (e.g. HSE Plan compliance, environmental permit compliance, SP2000, etc.) and support the Project team in closing out identified remedial actions.
• Participate in incident investigations and support close-out of remedial actions.
• Ensure HSE performance data is collected and is accurate (incident and near miss reporting, exposure hours data, road safety statistics, occupational health data, etc.). Analyse data to identify performance trends, support Project Team in developing and implementing actions to address identified areas for improvement.
• Deliver training to Project Teams on HSE topics.
• Provide coaching to Contractor Site HSE Advisors.
• Commit to own HSE competence development and learning.
