The Officer – Database Administration supports the day-to-day maintenance and administration of the bank's database systems. He/ She assists in installing, monitoring, and backing up databases under the guidance of senior team members, ensuring data availability and security across on-premises and cloud environments. The Officer – Database Administration contributes to the stability and reliability of the bank's data infrastructure by performing basic operational tasks and supporting improvement initiatives.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assists in installing and configuring database systems in collaboration with senior administrators and application/Infrastructure teams.
  • Supports the monitoring of database performance and prepares basic reports on usage and issues.
  • Participates in routine maintenance tasks such as backups, patches, updates, and user account management and ensure the systems are current and secure.
  • Supports database access control procedures by helping apply security protocols and managing user permissions under supervision.
  • Works with the team to maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, access logs, and performance records.
  • Coordinates with internal IT teams and vendors to assist in troubleshooting database-related issues.
  • Helps test backup and recovery procedures to ensure business continuity and data protection.
  • Supports the collection and structuring of data for reporting dashboards, including Power BI.
  • Monitors scheduled jobs and scripts to ensure smooth database operations.
  • Participates in training sessions to develop knowledge of database platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Collaborates with other functions teams members to support in database environments and routine database requests.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Applications.
  • Exposure to relational database systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL during academic projects or internships is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of database concepts, SQL queries, and backup procedures is desired.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows or Linux) is preferred.
