JOB TITLE

Senior Manager - Commercial | MAF Retail | Head Office Oman

Role Summary

The Senior Manager – Commercial is responsible for establishing sourcing strategies, leading cross-functional strategic sourcing, and managing merchandizing teams. The role involves managing and negotiating with suppliers to execute contracts and optimize opportunities. Additionally, the role includes defining and implementing assortment selection, category profitability, and the promotional national calendar.

ROLE PROFILE

  • Establish category sourcing strategies and lead cross-functional strategic sourcing and merchandizing teams.
  • Manage category suppliers to act as market intelligence providers regarding categories; anticipate strategic opportunities and keep key stakeholders informed.
  • Drive category suppliers' activities to mitigate risk, improve performance, and add value.
  • Define and implement assortment selection, category profitability, and the promotional national calendar.
  • Ensure online assortment and selection match offline offerings to provide a consistent customer experience.
  • Define country-specific strategic merchandise and assortment through product selection.
  • Develop long-term country strategies and influence cross-company project development.
  • Provide mentorship to develop a continuous talent pipeline for key roles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in E-Commerce or Business Administration.
  • 7–10 years of experience in category management or merchandizing.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Effective team management abilities.
