Librarian

Indian Librarian in Muscat, Oman

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Indian Librarian to join our library team in Muscat, Oman. The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge of library procedures and systems, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the library, including cataloging, acquisitions, and circulation
- Administer library policies and procedures to ensure efficient functioning of the library
- Assist patrons with research inquiries and provide reference services
- Develop and maintain collections by selecting, ordering, and processing new materials
- Plan and implement library programs and events to promote literacy and engage the community
- Train and supervise library staff, including scheduling shifts and managing workloads
- Maintain accurate records of library usage statistics for reporting purposes
- Collaborate with other departments to support the educational curriculum of the organization

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 3 years experience working as a librarian in a similar setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus)
- Strong knowledge of library systems such as cataloging software, databases, and electronic resources
- Familiarity with current trends in library services and technology
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and multitask effectively

Salary:
We offer a competitive salary starting at 1600$ per month based on qualifications and experience.

Location:
This is a full-time position based in Muscat, Oman. Indian nationalities are preferred.
