About the job: Sr. Design & Commissioning Engineer Security & TelecomJob Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed design drawings, system layouts, and technical documents for CCTV, Access Control, Public Address (PA), Intrusion Detection, PAGA, and Fiber Optic networks.
- Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies to assess security and telecom system requirements.
- Ensure integration of security & telecom systems with civil infrastructure, coordinating with structural and MEP teams.
- Evaluate and recommend suitable telecom network architecture, including wired and wireless communication systems.
- Plan and oversee the installation, configuration, and commissioning of security & telecom systems at project sites.
- Perform pre-commissioning tests, functional testing, and final commissioning of installed systems.
- Conduct system troubleshooting, rectifications, and performance validation to ensure optimal functionality.
- Coordinate with civil teams to ensure telecom infrastructure (ducting, cabling, mounting structures) aligns with system requirements.
- Ensure proper earthing, grounding, and power supply for telecom & security equipment.
- Collaborate with civil, electrical, and instrumentation teams for smooth execution of installations.
- Prepare and maintain commissioning reports, test procedures, and system documentation for client approvals.
- Ensure compliance with Oman regulations, international standards (NFPA, NEC, BICSI, SIRA, ITU, ISO 27001), and oil & gas industry guidelines.
- Analyze system hardware and software requirements for projects and design accordingly.
- Review and ensure technical correctness of MAS and procurement.
- Design and engineer security & telecom systems including access control, physical security, intrusion detection, VMS, fiber optics, structured cabling, networking, telephony, and storage.
- Define technical architecture components, including hardware, software, OS, and performance monitoring, in line with standards.
- Complete all system design and engineering tasks to core standards, acting as technical owner and SME.
- Recommend technologies to meet project objectives and support sales, procurement, and service teams.
- Maintain expertise in hardware and software system integration principles.
- Oversee system upgrades to ensure latest updates are applied.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices, proposing and implementing improvements.
- Develop system integration skills through industry seminars and training.
- Ensure successful completion of factory, site, and client acceptance tests.
- Develop coherent technology architecture and system integration plans for security systems.
- Inspect, review, and approve site erection, cabling, and termination works.
- Coordinate with vendors and clients for system implementation, updates, and testing.
- Maintain technical documentation, including reports, checklists, and cause-and-effect matrices.
- Manage teams to deliver client SLA without NCRs and meet expectations.
- Provide Level 2 & 3 support for low current systems like CCTV, access control, gates, HVM, PIDS, fences, BMS, LCS, AV, ICT, and telecom.
- Ensure all systems are updated and compatible, performing migrations and expansions as needed.
- Maintain client relationships and highlight renewal opportunities for SSA/CarePlus/SUP.
- Conduct training for customers and internal teams.
- Lead technical presentations and POCs/demos for customers.
- Ensure client satisfaction throughout project phases in technical aspects.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related fields (Master's preferred). Certifications like BICSI, SIRA, Cisco, or Fiber Optic are advantageous. PMP, RCDD, or other project management certifications are preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience managing major EPC security projects in Oil & Gas sector.
- Preferably 10 years of experience in the Middle East, with a valid Oman driving license. At least 2 years in Oil & Gas industrial security projects, with experience in 5-7 major Oil & Gas or Petrochemical EPC projects.
- Experience in system commissioning, SAT, and client approvals, aligning with project schedules and specifications.
- At least 5 years handling civil-related telecom & security projects in GCC, preferably Oman.
