Electrical Technician

To carry out all maintenance electrical works, overhaul and repair of all electrical equipment in a timely, safe, and efficient manner while following all quality and safety standards to ensure trouble-free and minimal downtime.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Electrical Maintenance: Perform skilled maintenance, overhaul, and repair of equipment such as electric motors, turbo-alternators, panels, switchgears, substations, power lines, and other electrical equipment. Conduct re-conditioning of motors, alternators, switches, etc., in the workshop. Repair and fabricate mechanical parts related to electrical equipment, either on-site or in the workshop.
2. Report Submission: Submit reports to the Line Manager on agreed intervals regarding machinery performance and supply levels.
3. Electrical Troubleshooting: Conduct troubleshooting and repairs of machinery or arrange external services to ensure smooth operations.
4. Required Tools Request: Obtain electrical supplies such as spares, materials, and tools to support operations.
5. Usage of Electrical Equipment: Use testing equipment like voltmeters, ammeters, insulation testers, oscilloscopes, etc.
6. Inspections: Regularly inspect machinery to ensure compliance with procedures and standards, diagnose faults, and notify the Line Manager of serious malfunctions for corrective actions.
7. Preventive Maintenance: Implement routine and preventive maintenance plans to keep electrical machinery operational.
8. Other Responsibilities: Maintain records of repairs, read engineering drawings, and comply with departmental policies and legislative requirements.
9. Health, Safety & Quality: Follow all safety, health, and quality standards to ensure safety and compliance. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and stay updated on industry trends.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Senior Electrical High School with 2 years of formal electrical trades training.
• Proficiency in English or Arabic.
• 5 to 8 years of experience in electrical repair and maintenance in the oil, gas, or petrochemical industry.
