Librarian

Nizwa, Oman is seeking a qualified Librarian to join our team. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the organization and preservation of our library's collections, as well as providing assistance to library patrons. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing new programs and services to enhance the library experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage the organization and preservation of library collections, including cataloging, classification, and shelving
2. Provide assistance to library patrons in locating and accessing materials
3. Develop and implement new programs and services to enhance the library experience
4. Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to integrate library resources into curriculum
5. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current literature, technology, and trends in librarianship
6. Create engaging displays and promotional materials to promote library resources
7. Assist with budget planning and management
8. Train and supervise library staff members
9. Maintain accurate records of circulation statistics

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
2. Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
3. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
4. Excellent communication skills
5. Proficient in using various information technologies
6. Knowledge of cataloging systems such as Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress Classification
7. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
