Role Statement

Responsible for the effective and efficient assessment and monitoring of Credit Risk through pre-sanction and periodic review of Credit Applications.

Principal Responsibilities
  1. To facilitate review process of credit proposal submitted to the credit risk unit by effective and efficient assessment and monitoring of Credit Risk through pre-sanction and periodic review of Credit Applications.
  2. To assist in the initial review of credit proposal submitted from Business Units by ensuring compliance with bank's policies as well as regulatory guidelines.
  3. To identify and highlight risk associated with the business operation and ensure proposed structure of facilities is justified.
  4. To review financials analysis, projections, cash flows, assumptions, debt servicing workout, projects progress monitoring and other financial data presented.
  5. To be jointly responsible with the Business Unit representatives for quality and integrity of proposals.
  6. Discuss with BU RMs/Credit Analyst and other Business Units of the Bank in order to facilitate proper structuring of facilities/security structure in order to minimize risks and maximize the bank's interests and image.
  7. Liaison with RCU to ensure accurate reflection in the CAs of security held and security required.
  8. Any additional work assigned by line manager or Head of Credit Risk/Risk Management.
  9. Prepare Quarterly reports for Executive Risk Committee and Executive Credit Committee meetings.
  10. Prepare Level 1 approvals report required for the Credit and Investment Committee (CIC) meeting.
Candidate Specifications
  1. Minimum bachelor's degree in finance or related major / ACCA / CFA.
  2. Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in Credit Risk Management or Corporate Banking.
  3. Good computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Moody's/Credit Lens analytical etc.).
  4. Strong understanding of Credit analysis and policies.
  5. Good understanding of Risk Management principles.
  6. Good understanding of regulatory guidelines.
  7. Problem solving skills (Analytical thinking, quantitative, conceptual skills).
  8. Strong understanding of the changes in practices for the management of credit risk and regulatory requirements.
  9. Capable of communicating clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  10. Good time-management skills.
  11. Self-motivated and leadership attributes.
  12. People management and relationship skills.
  13. Have a hands-on attitude and approach.
