Dialysis Nurse

The Medical City for Military and Security Services (MCMSS) in Muscat Oman is a Tertiary/Quaternary Care level city providing services to patients of different age groups in different specialties.

MCMSS is seeking to appoint Dialysis Nurse, who is well trained and highly motivated individual to develop her/his professional career within the MCMSS.

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor in General Nursing (Or) Diploma in General Nursing.
  • BSC in Nursing with specialized Diploma in Nephrology Nursing.
  • Valid BLS and ACLS certificate.
  • Prometric exam passed in OMSB and Data flow.

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Dialysis specialized Nurse-3 years' experience in the Dialysis Unit.
  • General Nurse- 5 years' experience in the Dialysis Unit.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Able to work independently with acute and chronic dialysis patients.
  • Priming of dialyzer, bloodlines and readies dialysis equipment for treatment.
  • Initiation, monitoring and termination of hemodialysis
  • Active handling of complication of hemodialysis, medical and surgical emergencies.
  • Pre and post dialysis blood sampling from AVF/AVG/External vascular access, and Interpretation of blood results.
  • Assisting vascular access insertion such as IJVC, FVC
  • Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation for renal patient when medical emergencies.
  • Trouble shooting of dialysis machine (Fresenius 5008R), changing diasafe filter and other minor problems during dialysis.
  • Provide training to newly joined staff in the Unit.
  • Involves in education and teaching of patients and caregivers.
  • Adheres to policies, guidelines, plans and programs of MCMSS.
  • Performs all duties assigned to his designation.
  • Performs all relevant interventions related to his/her field of specialization.
  • Completes and maintains her/ his set of clinical privileges.
  • Performs other duties as assigned/directed by the chairperson / head of the department.

Salary will be based upon qualification, experience and available vacancies, using Oman Medical Bylaw.
