Senior Civil Engineer

Overview

Wood is recruiting for a Senior Civil Engineer to join its Projects team focusing on delivering across FEED and detail design scopes of work. In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing, checking, or approving civil engineering deliverables.
• Performing design methodology/concepts of complete building elements and oil & gas equipment including dynamics, earthquake, infrastructural facilities, drainage, sewer systems, etc.
• Carrying out appropriate discipline and inter-discipline checks and reviews of engineering and design work.

Position is based in Oman for a long-term assignment.

Responsibilities

The Senior Civil Engineer will be responsible for:

• Executing technical work for FEED+DD within designated cost, time, and resource (CTR) scopes.
• Preparing, checking, or approving civil engineering deliverables.
• Performing design methodology/concepts of complete building elements and oil & gas equipment including dynamics, earthquake, infrastructural facilities, drainage, sewer systems, etc.
• Carrying out appropriate discipline and inter-discipline checks and reviews of engineering and design work.
• Implementing, practicing, and monitoring quality management system (QMS) in FEED office projects in line with ISO 9001-2015 and APIQ2 2nd edition requirements.
• Supporting quality assurance and HSE compliance audits for civil projects and reviews in accordance with project requirements.
• Executing and maintaining work within allocated man hours and ensuring that other co-workers assigned to the project are adhering to the agreed CTR.
• Seeking all specialist engineering support and advice to meet the required safety and environmental standards.
• Maintaining technical integrity and flagging any deviations to PDO standards that are formally communicated to the relevant CFDH.
• Exploring cost reduction opportunities wherever appropriate.
• Keeping abreast of technical development and progress in the oil and gas industry.
• Mentoring graduate engineers to fulfill development objectives.

Qualifications

What makes you remarkable?

• University graduate in civil engineering discipline with a minimum of 15 years experience.
• 6 years experience in engineering design in the oil and gas industry.
• In-depth knowledge of civil-related work.
• Practical experience in all civil engineering relevant disciplines.
