POSITION INFORMATION

Division: Network & Digital Department: IT & Business System

Role Designation: IT Server Administrator

ROLE PURPOSE:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Server Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of hands-on experience in managing and maintaining Linux and Windows servers, email systems (Outlook/Exchange), backup solutions, VMware environments, and SAN/NAS storage systems. This role is essential to ensure the stability, security, and performance of our IT infrastructure.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Accountabilities:

* Install, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows servers to ensure the availability and stability of the systems.
* Manage user accounts, permissions, and system policies.
* Monitor and maintain email systems (Exchange Server).
* Manage Datacenter switches and SAN switches.
* Perform routine backups and ensure data integrity and availability.
* Manage and troubleshoot VMware virtualization environments
* Maintain and monitor SAN and NAS storage like Netapp and oceanstor systems.
* Ensure system security through hardened OS, update and upgrade.
* Monitor the health of the systems and install required patches to secure the systems and networks.
* Document configurations, procedures, and system changes.
* Provide technical support and resolve server-related issues.
* Provide support for staff, including laptops, desktops, printers, wireless, and others.
* Provide support for AWASR outlets.
* Collaborate with IT team members on infrastructure projects and improvements.
* Develop and maintain automation scripts using tools like PowerShell, Python, or Ansible to streamline repetitive tasks.
* Analyze system performance and make recommendations for improvements forecast system capacity requirements to handle future growth and demand.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations through regular audits and assessments.
* Coordinate with hardware and software vendors for procurement, support, and maintenance.
* Provide training and mentorship to junior IT staff.

Qualifications & Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field.
* 2-3 years of experience in a similar IT role.
* Proficiency in Linux (RHEL/OpenSuse/Ubuntu) and Windows Server administration.
* Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Exchange email systems.
* Knowledge of backup tools and disaster recovery practices.
* Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter.
* Familiarity with SAN and NAS storage technologies.
* Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
