Librarian

Part-Time Librarian

We are seeking a part-time Librarian to join our team at the Al Buraymi Public Library. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for maintaining and organizing library materials, assisting patrons in finding resources, and managing library programs and events. Responsibilities:
- Maintain and organize library materials, including books, magazines, and multimedia resources
- Assist patrons in locating and accessing library resources
- Develop and implement engaging programs and events for library visitors of all ages
- Provide reference services to patrons seeking information or assistance with research
- Conduct outreach activities to promote the library's services and resources
- Keep accurate records of library transactions, such as checkouts and returns
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop new collections or programs based on community needs
- Stay up-to-date on current trends and developments in the field of librarianship

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Prior experience working in a library setting
- Strong knowledge of cataloging systems, reference sources, and information retrieval methods
- Excellent communication skills and ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in English (Arabic language skills would be an asset)
