Senior Dealer – FX

Job Purpose:

Serve as a Senior Dealer within the Treasury Division, with a primary focus on managing the end-to-end operations of the Foreign Exchange and Money Market Desk. This includes overseeing customer and interbank FX cover transactions, managing nostro account liquidity, and ensuring alignment with market risk and regulatory frameworks. In addition to core dealing responsibilities, the role involves establishing and nurturing strategic relationships with banking counterparties and financial institutions, contributing to the institution's funding strategy through participation in bilateral, club, and syndicated financing transactions.

Key Tasks and Duties:

• Authorize or secure necessary approvals for special FX rates requested by branches and customer
• Execute foreign exchange cover transactions for business reported by branches and the Corporate Sales Desk, adhering to the Bank's dealing policies and market risk mandate
• Assist the Treasury Sales Desk in engaging with customers to understand and fulfill their FX and treasury requirements
• Manage nostro account balances— multiple accounts, placements, and fund transfers to ensure efficient liquidity deployment
• Maintain CBO balances for OMR money market to meet reserve requirements and effectively utilize excess liquidity
• Optimize lending ratio to support the Bank's asset-liability objectives
• Operate within approved counterparty limits (customer and interbank) and adhere to currency open position limits
• Adhere strictly to the Treasury Front Office Manual and all prescribed dealing procedures
• Ensure full compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies, including the Dealer's Code of Conduct
• Proactively advise the Divisional Head – Treasury on potential enhancements of dealing procedures
• Respond promptly to internal queries from branches and other departments related to FX and treasury matters
• Provide inputs to the Divisional Manager during the annual budgeting process
• Assist the Divisional Manager with strategic initiatives and ad hoc assignments, as required

Qualifications:

A Degree in Banking or Finance or an appropriate subject with mathematical aptitude. Formal training in a major dealing room is essential.

Experience

At least 7-8 years in a dealing environment with a range of experiences and a proven ability to work under pressure while giving attention to detail in dealing environments.
