Job Description
The Vessel Commander is responsible for the overall operation of our vessels, ensuring compliance with all relevant maritime regulations and company policies. This role requires strong leadership skills, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Key responsibilities include coordinating tug operations, managing crew discipline, and participating in safety training. The Vessel Commander must also ensure that adequate resources are available to carry out activities onboard, such as cargo operations and ballast operations.
Additional responsibilities include supervising and assisting with tug maintenance, preparing operational reports, and participating in operational improvement exercises. A valid Seafarer Medical certificate and proficiency in basic safety training are essential requirements for this role.
Requirements
At least 24 months of sea time as a Master.
Valid Seafarer Medical certificate.
Proficiency in basic safety training (STCW A-VI/1).
