We are seeking an ambitious Junior Project Developer to support the development of utility-scale wind and solar farm projects from concept to construction. This role involves assisting in site identification, feasibility analysis, permitting, stakeholder engagement, and financial modeling.

Responsibilities
  1. Project Development Support:
  • Site Evaluation: Evaluate potential sites for wind and solar projects based on factors such as land suitability, resource potential, grid connectivity, and environmental constraints.
  • Feasibility Assessments: Conduct preliminary feasibility assessments, including land use evaluations, topography reviews, and regulatory zoning checks.
  • Project Budgeting: Support the preparation of project budgets, timelines, and risk assessments.
  1. Permitting & Regulatory Compliance:
  • Permit Coordination: Coordinate permitting processes with local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Regulatory Oversight: Monitor regulatory requirements and deadlines to ensure compliance with renewable energy policies and incentives.
  1. Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Community Building: Build relationships with landowners, local communities, utilities, and government officials.
  • Public Outreach: Support public consultations and community outreach initiatives to address concerns and gain project approvals.
  1. Financial & Technical Analysis:
  • Financial Planning: Collaborate with senior developers to create financial models, including LCOE (Levelized Cost of Energy), ROI, and cash flow projections.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze meteorological data, such as wind speed and solar irradiance, and energy yield assessments.
  • Technical Review: Review engineering designs and technical specifications for turbines, solar panels, and balance-of-system components.
  1. Documentation & Reporting:
  • Record Management: Maintain organized records of project documentation, including contracts, permits, and land agreements.
  • Reporting: Prepare progress reports and presentations for internal teams and external stakeholders.
  1. Market Research:
  • Industry Monitoring: Monitor industry trends, policy changes, and competitive landscapes in renewable energy markets.
  • Opportunity Identification: Identify new opportunities for wind and solar project development.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Renewable Energy Background: 1-2 years of experience in renewable energy, project development, or a related field.
  • Lifecycle Knowledge: Familiarity with wind/solar project lifecycle stages, including development, permitting, construction, and operations.

Skills:

  • GIS Tools: Basic proficiency in GIS tools, such as ArcGIS or Google Earth Pro, preferably.
  • Excel Proficiency: Intermediate Excel skills for data analysis and modeling.
  • Programming Languages: Python (Pandas, NumPy) or MatLab, preferably.
