Job Title: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Financial Technology (FinTech)

Overview:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic to join our Faculty of Business and Management as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Financial Technology (FinTech). As a member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students, conducting research, and contributing to the development of our academic programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver lectures, tutorials, and workshops on FinTech modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Develop and assess student assignments and exams.
  • Liaise with the Faculty Director on student matters, including timetabling, academic support, and pastoral care.
  • Undertake the role of Student Advisor/Personal Tutor.
  • Conduct research and scholarly activities, with a focus on publishing in refereed international journals.
  • Engage with external finance and FinTech bodies and industry to enrich the student experience.
  • Participate in university meetings and events, including Board of Examiners, Programme Reviews, and Staff/Student Liaison.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Finance, FinTech, or a closely related field.
  • Teaching experience in Higher Education, preferably in FinTech.
  • Strong research profile, with a track record of published research in internationally recognized journals.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to students and peers.
  • Experience of working in a UK HE sector or Omani/GCC HE environments is an advantage.
