Bricklayer and Stoneworker

About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Mason to join our team. As a Mason, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures made of brick, stone or concrete. Your main duties will include:

• Preparing surfaces by cleaning them and laying out appropriate tools and materials
• Reading and interpreting blueprints or drawings to determine layout of structures
• Measuring and marking cutting lines on materials using ruler, pencil or chalk
• Cutting or breaking bricks, stones or blocks to desired size using hand tools
• Mixing mortar according to specified proportions
• Laying bricks in courses, spreading mortar between courses and tapping bricks into place with hammer or trowel

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a Mason in the construction industry
2. Ability to read blueprints/drawings and take accurate measurements
3. Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations and procedures
4. Excellent knowledge of various masonry materials/tools/equipment/techniques
5. Physically fit with good hand-eye coordination
6. Ability to work at heights
