Job Summary
">We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial management, contract administration, and cost control.
The role involves managing relationships with key stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and clients, and ensuring that all contracts are administered efficiently and effectively.
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for preparing contract documents, advising on contract administration, and ensuring that all financial reports are accurate and up-to-date.
The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Prepares contract documents, warranties, bonds and licenses and assist formal execution by the appropriate parties.
- Advises on administration of the terms of construction works or services contracts.
- Measures and provides valuations of the work carried out and adjust variations in accordance with the terms of the contract and agree with the contractor.
- Ensures adequate cost control and reporting services during the contract.
- Prepares financial reports for the client in the form and at the frequency required.
- Identifies all costs associated with design changes, contract awards, construction activities and client charges.
- Participates in the evaluation of claims for delay and additional costs made by the contractor and any nominated subcontractors/suppliers.
- Advises on the issue of certificates of practical completion and ensure that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
- Advises on issue of certificate of making good defects and final completion in accordance with any requirements relating to completion, submissions and approvals.
- Delivers improvements in systems and processes, driving transformational change.
- Manages a team of professional roles (may include support roles), driving performance and results, whilst delivering performance management, technical development and coaching.
- Seeks opportunities for continuous improvements/improving working processes.
- Develops effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Manages stakeholders.
- Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Extensive years of experience.
- Knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction.
- Developing experience of managing relationships with key stakeholders.
- Understanding of present-day issues such as sustainability, social value and carbon reduction.
- Strong understanding of industry best practice.
