Job Overview

The Role of a Directional Drilling Technician is critical to ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance with standards while contributing to field readiness and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Identify various types of directional drilling tools and downhole equipment
  • Receive tools and perform required checks as per repair and maintenance procedures and tool manuals
  • Ensure all disassembled parts are sent for inspection and updates are made in the tracking system
  • Coordinate with operations to meet field schedule requirements
  • Assemble DD Motors as per job requirements
  • Operate BreakOut Machine and Overhead Crane
  • Participate in knowledge sharing, lessons learned, and HSE reporting
  • Report job failures promptly and submit failure reports and evidence for investigations
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Ensure shop equipment and tools are in good working condition
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Quick learner with adaptability to new problems and situations
  • Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Energetic and driven toward continuous learning and improvement
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Team player with a commitment to safety and operational excellence

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Good computer skills; ability to work with business software
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Motor Assembly and Disassembly
  • Certified/competent Breakout Machine Operator
  • Certified/competent Overhead Crane Operator
