Job Title: Optoelectronic Engineer - System Integration

At our organization, we are seeking a skilled and motivated optoelectronic engineer to play a key role in the development, integration, and validation of advanced Lidar and photonic systems. This role requires cross-functional expertise in optics, electronics, and embedded systems to deliver high-performance, reliable sensor platforms.

Responsibilities:
  • Define the architecture for optoelectronic systems including photodetectors, lasers, drivers, and signal chains.
  • Evaluate optical components for system integration with consideration of their compatibility and performance characteristics.
  • Collaborate closely with teams responsible for ASICs, firmware, and mechanical engineering to ensure optimal overall system performance.
  • Lead the integration of optical subsystems with electronics, incorporating PCB-level optomechanical alignment.
  • Develop test plans for characterizing optical and electrical properties (e.g., responsivity, SNR, jitter).
  • Utilize lab tools (oscilloscopes, optical power meters, spectrum analyzers) to validate and debug the system.
  • Conduct simulations at the system level to predict optical alignment, power budgets, and signal behavior.
  • Apply software tools such as Zemax, MATLAB, and COMSOL to optimize system design and improve performance.
  • Prepare detailed interface specifications, performance reports, and test procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including optical design, IC engineering, packaging, and testing.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optoelectronics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in optoelectronic system design, integration, and validation.
  • Strong understanding of photonic components and techniques for interfacing them optically.
  • Familiarity with mixed-signal and high-speed analog systems is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in using lab instrumentation and data analysis software (Python, MATLAB).
  • Experience with optical modeling tools (Zemax, LightTools, COMSOL) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment.
