Library Assistant

Job Title: Library Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to assist our librarian in managing the library's collection, supporting patrons with research and reference inquiries, and maintaining the library's organization and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in cataloging and classifying library materials">
• Help patrons locate library materials and provide guidance on research strategies">
• Process new materials into the library's collection">
• Maintain the organization of library shelves and ensure all materials are properly shelved">
• Assist with creating displays and promoting library events or services">
• Monitor library equipment, report any issues, and assist with troubleshooting">
• Provide basic computer assistance to patrons using library resources">
• Perform routine tasks such as checking books in/out, collecting fines, and updating patron records">
• Keep track of inventory levels and assist with ordering new materials when needed">

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a library setting is preferred">
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail">
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written">
• Proficiency in using computers and other technology">
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team">
• Willingness to learn new skills">
