Skilled Tradesperson

Job Overview

The Multi Skilled Technician is a key member of the engineering team at InterContinental Muscat, responsible for providing comprehensive maintenance and repair services to all hotel facilities.

Working under the guidance of the Heat, Light and Power Engineer or Repairs and Maintenance Engineer, this role ensures that all electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, and premises are in optimal working condition, adhering to IHG standards.

Daily Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair laundry equipment, kitchen gear, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units, including AHUs, motors, and motor controls, fans, water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants, hotel water pumps, chilled water pumps, electrical panels, and emergency generators.
• Attend to repairs and maintenance of transformers and electrical low-tension panels.
• Install electrical and ancillary systems, such as audio/video cables, computer cables, and MTAV systems.
• Carry out various types of repair and maintenance work throughout the hotel premises, including any new additions or extensions.
• Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests within 15 minutes of receipt.
• Ensure the uniform is clean and well-maintained, maintaining a tidy appearance before entering public areas.
• Keep plant rooms, workshops, and related areas clean and organized.
• Foster a safe environment by observing prescribed safety standards and helping maintain conditions for self and others.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience.
• Proficient in hand and power tool usage.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
