Job Description:

The Chief Engineer reports to the Master and is responsible for executing tug maintenance on board in accordance with planned schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Executing tug maintenance and marine plant repairs
  • Supervising personnel involved in engineering functions
  • Signing off on completed maintenance work
  • Preparing operational and maintenance reports as required
  • Participating in safety training and ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Maintaining day-to-day operations and ensuring environmental compliance
  • Liaising with management for operational improvements
  • Ensuring correct use and maintenance of machinery and equipment
  • Complying with local, regional, national, and international legislation
  • Responsible for all bunker and internal oil transfers according to regulatory requirements
