Business Law Professorship Opportunity

An academic professional is expected to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and knowledge transfer.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing health, safety, and environmental controls;
  • Maintaining equipment and facilities;
  • Reporting incidents and observations.

The role also involves teaching, learning support, research, and administration. Key areas of focus include:

Teaching and Learning Support

Design, develop, and deliver various courses at different academic levels.

Collaborate with faculty members to implement the university's teaching strategy.

Ensure content, delivery methods, and materials align with defined learning outcomes.

Create and enhance teaching materials, methods, and approaches to improve subject area delivery.

Contribute to good academic practices within the faculty.

Utilize appropriate teaching, learning support, and assessment methods for effective knowledge transfer.

Play an active role in academic advising of assigned students.

Research and Scholarship

Contribute to and develop research activities across the faculty.

Help the faculty develop a teaching-research nexus and increase the quality of teaching and research activities.

Write publications of the appropriate standard and/or disseminate research findings using media appropriate to the discipline.

Administration and Faculty Support

Participate in the faculty's engagement with local and national businesses and industries.

Exercising academic leadership for all subject area activities - teaching and/or research, as appropriate.

Assist in the annual review of course and program reviews.

Collaborate with senior staff in determining the need for and allocation of resources within the area of responsibility.

Participate in institutional and strategic planning.

Contribute to the development and implementation of faculty operational plans.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • A PhD degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university;
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic;
  • Ability to use computers and relevant applications;
  • Clear and effective communication; interpersonal skills, resourcefulness, and team player ability.

Additionally, awareness of Health and Safety requirements, significant research experience, and good tertiary teaching experience are desired.
