We're seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our Core Desktop team. As a key member of this team, you'll play a crucial role in building the next generation of immutable Ubuntu desktop.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and develop core components of the Ubuntu desktop.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of the project.
  3. Work closely with other engineers to identify and resolve technical issues.
  4. Develop and maintain high-quality code that meets the highest standards of performance, security, and usability.
  5. Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the overall codebase.
  6. Engage with the wider Ubuntu community to gather feedback and insights.
  7. Contribute to the creation of documentation and knowledge base articles to aid in the learning and growth of the team.

Requirements

  • Strong academic record, preferably in a technical field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent coding skills in languages such as C/C++, Go, Python, and Shell scripting.
  • Experience with Linux containerization technologies, including kernel namespaces, cgroups, apparmor, and seccomp.
  • Understanding of software development methodologies and life cycles.
  • Passion for technology and enthusiasm for working with a talented team.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a remote team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
