Steel Outfitting Supervisor Job

Supervise steel outfitting work and pipe repair activities to ensure timely completion according to quality, health, safety, and environment standards.

  • Assign daily tasks for the pipe team and resolve related issues to meet job requirements.
  • Maintain workshop facilities cleanliness and equipment organization to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environment standards.
  • ID jobs with owners and participate in on-board meetings.
  • Conduct TBT for all workers and manage team start and stop times.
  • Arrange materials for workers before execution and goal-oriented preparation by Foreman.
  • Compile WCR weekly for long repairs and every alternate day for small projects.
  • Check progress of work carried out daily and control manpower requests.
  • Participate in Risk Assessment and prepare NCR and Safety Incident Form as needed.
  • Night shift handover must be specific and materials arranged accordingly.
  • Request services like staging, utilities, and crane individually and follow up.
  • Interact with SRM/Owner about progress and conduct inspections with QC/Owners.
  • Oversee outfitting activities such as hull and engine room steel outfitting work and Pipe related repair activities.
  • Ensure fitting, welding, installation, and pressure testing activities are performed correctly to support outfitting jobs' quality.
  • Support other sections as required.
Technical Guidance:
  • Carry out complex outfitting jobs and provide guidance to workers for learning and development.
Material Management:
  • Coordinate with Engineer or Section Head if needed to ensure material requirements are met on time and accurately.
  • Monitor material use to minimize wastage and financial losses.
  • Maintain stock of consumables and spares for all outfitting jobs.
Progress Reporting:
  • Prepare daily reports on outfitting activities progress to inform supervisor of current status and ensure work completion according to approved schedules.
  • Adhere to quality, health, safety, and environmental procedures to guarantee employee safety, product quality, and environmental compliance.
Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Polytechnic Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 6 years of relevant experience in outfitting jobs including at least 2-3 years in supervisory positions.

Job-Specific Knowledge & Skills:

  • Understanding ISO and Fabrication drawing of Pipes/Structure works and supervision skills.
Desirable Candidate Profile:

This position requires a highly skilled and experienced individual who can effectively supervise steel outfitting work and pipe repair activities. The ideal candidate should possess excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as a strong understanding of ISO and fabrication drawing of pipes/structure works.
