Petrophysics Expert

We are seeking an experienced petrophysicist to lead our exploration team in Oman. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality petrophysical interpretation results and technical program advice for commercial, technical, and operating decisions.

• Petrophysical Interpretation: Provide accurate petrophysical interpretation results and technical program advice.
• Logging Program Creation: Develop and evaluate logging programs acquisition, supervise such activities, and ensure quality control.
• Log Interpretation: Perform log interpretation of conventional and non-conventional logs, including cased hole logging.
• Core Analysis: Set up core analysis programs for wells to be cored.
• Fluid Contact Determination: Define Fluid Water Level (FWL) using pressure data and build Shallow Heavy Fraction (SHF) models.
• Reservoir Characterization: Integrate PP data in subsurface reservoir characterizations for development and exploration projects.
• Volumetric Calculations: Calculate reservoir volumetric parameters manually or using software.
• Value of Information Analysis: Perform cost analysis on petro-physical data acquisition or analysis.
• Technical Meetings: Attend Technical Committee Meetings to cover PP elements.
• Candidate Coaching: Coach young graduates working in the company.
• New Technology Deployment: Ensure deployment of new technology in the PP arena and align it with company and partners.

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Geosciences; Master's degree is advantageous.
• Experience: 10+ years of Petrophysical Engineering experience within the oil industry, service company, or producer in the Middle East region.
• Skills: Familiarity with logging operations, core measurements, laboratory experiments, data interpretation, logging contractors, and integrated reservoir studies.
• Industry Knowledge: Current with the latest industry tools and petrophysical interpretation techniques for both clastic and carbonate reservoir systems.
• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in integrated teams and interact with geoscientists, reservoir engineers, and other technical staff.
• Pressure Management: Willingness to work under pressure and provide input in short project timelines.
• Communication: Good presentation and communication skills, written and verbal.
