Job Overview:
This role is responsible for overseeing the airworthiness of avionics-related tasks within an organization. The incumbent will manage avionics systems' continuing airworthiness, ensuring compliance with regulatory and manufacturer requirements, and provide expert technical support for modifications, troubleshooting, reliability monitoring, and maintenance planning.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Ensure the continuing airworthiness of electrical & avionics systems across the fleet.
- Review and implement applicable Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), and OEM recommendations affecting electrical & avionics.
- Propose amendments to Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMMs), issue Technical Notices, and other technical documents as necessary.
- Monitor the performance and reliability of electrical & avionics systems and recommend corrective actions or program improvements.
- Provide technical support to line and base maintenance teams for troubleshooting avionics issues.
- Evaluate engineering orders, service bulletins, and field service advice relating to electrical & avionics.
- Review and approve electrical / avionics-related maintenance instructions and repair solutions when required.
- Lead avionics-related modification projects including upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) and other applicable design standards.
- Carry out technical investigation and evaluation on systems, abnormal failures, and repetitive defects and recommend improvement measures.
- Support the Reliability Program and contribute to root cause analysis for avionics defects and recurring issues.
- Recommend adjustments to maintenance programs based on avionics system performance.
- Ensure all avionics-related airworthiness tasks are performed in accordance with relevant regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of avionics configurations, modifications, and compliance status.
- Prepare documentation and responses for audits by regulatory authorities and lessors.
- Liaise with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), avionics vendors, and Maintenance Repair Organizations (MROs) for technical queries and support.
- Coordinate with Planning, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to ensure efficient technical operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics engineering or a similar field, with at least 8 years of relevant experience preferably in aviation engineering, maintenance, and development engineering divisions.
Alternatively, a Diploma holder in Electrical/Electronics engineering or ICAO Type II license with 10 years of relevant experience is also acceptable.
Desirable qualifications include an ICAO Type II License or Aircraft Maintenance License, knowledge of regulatory and manufacturers documentations, aircraft software configuration management, AMOS knowledge, and type rating course completion.
