Metalcraft Fabricator

The Structural Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that all structures and equipment are safe and functional. This includes carrying out regular inspections, performing repairs and maintenance tasks, and developing effective solutions to problems that arise.

Main Responsibilities:

• Inspect equipment and structures regularly to identify any potential issues or damage.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance tasks, including fabrication of new parts and components.
• Work with colleagues to ensure that all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
• Develop and implement effective solutions to problems that arise during the course of the job.
• Provide training and guidance to junior staff members to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field, attending workshops and conferences as necessary.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all activities are coordinated effectively.
• Liaise with suppliers and contractors to source materials and services as needed.
• Participate in quality control checks to ensure that all work meets the required standards.
• Take ownership of any mistakes or errors made during the course of the job, taking steps to rectify them promptly.
• Be prepared to travel to different locations as required, working at heights and in confined spaces as necessary.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on duty.
