Financial Accountant Role

A highly skilled Financial Accountant is required to manage the Company's financial affairs, focusing on the retail sector.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of income recognition, sending invoices and debit notes to customers, validating AR entries, and following up with customers on outstanding receivables.

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of income recognition.
  • Prepare and send invoices and debit notes to customers.
  • Validate all entries relating to AR prior to posting and propose adjustments if required.
  • Follow-up with customers on all outstanding receivables.
  • Send statements of account to customers on a monthly basis.
  • Reconcile bank statements to ensure accurate crediting of supplier remittances.
  • Apply inward remittances against invoices/debit notes raised.
  • Liaise with customers on debit and credit note matters.
  • Raise Debit Notes for goods returned to suppliers and follow up to obtain confirmation.
  • Match all AR applied/matched in a timely manner.
  • Prepare customer aging reports and explain overdue amounts.
  • Reconcile customer balances periodically according to Company policies/SOP.
  • Update Accounts Receivable master file data and ensure customer contact details are current.
  • Prepare month-end control account reconciliations.
  • Maintain master record of all income basis.
  • Review income/AR related amounts with Budget/LE comparisons.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Insurance Program to protect the Company from risks.
  • Timely renewal of insurance policies and negotiation of rates.
  • Submission and follow-up on insurance claims.
  • Timely submission of insurance endorsements and follow-up.
  • Ensure warranties, conditions, etc., are met and measures are in place for compliance.
Cash Management Responsibilities
  • Plan and organize cash office operations.
  • Review collection deposit documents daily, reconcile with sales records, ensure timely banking, and report on exceptions.
  • Reconcile POS machines to Z readings and posted statements.
  • Review and report on surplus/shortage incidents.
  • Ensure adequate insurance cover including temporary covers for short term cash float increases.
  • Regular review of the Cash Operation procedure.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance.
  • Possessing professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CA).
  • Minimum 4-5 years' experience.
  • Strong oral and written English communication skills and proficiency in MS-Excel.
  • Flexible to work in a fast-paced culture and willing to meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of business operation is essential.
