Data Center Support Specialist

This position requires an individual with expertise in data center operations, particularly in installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and networking equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure optimal performance and maximum uptime by installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, networking equipment, and other hardware.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues to minimize downtime and maintain service reliability.
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot networking devices, including Cisco and Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls, to ensure secure and efficient network operations.
  • Update, patch, and secure both Linux and Windows-based systems to prevent security breaches.
  • Provide comprehensive documentation of all installations, repairs, maintenance tasks, and system performance.
  • Develop and implement security protocols to protect the data center infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with remote teams to optimize data center operations and improve overall performance.

Requirements:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in data center operations, with a focus on independent or freelance projects.
  • Strong technical skills, including experience with Cisco and Juniper networking devices and proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Windows and Linux-based systems.
  • Valid certifications like Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS, or CompTIA Linux+ are highly desirable.
