Sustainability professionals seeking a new challenge may be interested in this role as an Assistant Manager in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Decarbonization.

Job Description

This position involves managing a multidisciplinary team to assist companies in addressing the complex policy, regulatory, and business environment risks and opportunities associated with their corporate sustainability/ESG strategies, decarbonization roadmaps and net zero targets.

You will analyze corporate activities and provide recommendations to enhance their sustainability/ESG strategy, methods, framework, and related tools to support clients in achieving their sustainability/ESG objectives.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage the review and development of sustainability/ESG programs and related reporting in line with stock exchange requirements in the region, including materiality assessments, peer benchmarking, stakeholder engagement, gap analysis, metric/KPI identification in alignment with common sustainability/ESG reporting standards such as GRI.
  2. Lead engagement teams performing fieldwork, including project management, client management, review of analysis, work papers and reports and presentations.
  3. Manage client relationships, business development efforts such as preparation of engaging and compelling proposals, approach and methodologies for delivering complex ESG/sustainability engagements.
  4. Support clients in their ESG-Decarbonization transformation journeys through leveraging digital systems and data management solutions.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of previous relevant work experience and experience with sustainability consulting, including sustainability strategy, reporting and impact measurement. A bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as engineering, energy, ESG, sustainability etc. is required.

A deep understanding of global, regional and local ESG/Sustainability and Decarbonization standards such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, GHG Protocol etc. is also necessary.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Sustainability consulting experience, including sustainability strategy, reporting and impact measurement.
  • Deep understanding of global, regional and local ESG/Sustainability and Decarbonization standards.
  • Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and leading engagement teams performing fieldwork.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Work Environment: This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and deadlines. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality results.

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as engineering, energy, ESG, sustainability etc.

Work Experience Requirements: 7+ years of previous relevant work experience.
