Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Lead to oversee the daily operations of our carpentry and joinery workshop. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for interior design and fit-out contracting.

About the Role:

  • Lead Workshop Team: Supervise and lead a team of skilled carpenters, joiners, and apprentices, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with project managers and designers to understand project requirements and timelines.
  • Production Oversight: Oversee the production of custom furniture, cabinetry, and other woodwork items, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of materials and supplies, ensuring timely ordering and stock management.
  • Health and Safety: Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Monitor and maintain workshop equipment, ensuring regular maintenance and prompt repairs.
  • Process Improvements: Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Project Timelines: Manage project timelines, ensuring that all work is completed on schedule and within standards.
  • Quality Checks: Conduct regular quality checks to ensure all products meet design specifications and standards.
  • Tech Support: Provide technical advice and solutions to resolve any production issues or challenges.

Requirements:

  • Work Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a carpentry or joinery workshop, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Sector Experience: Experience working in the commercial sector particularly within the retail, F&B and office fitouts with a strong portfolio.
  • Carpentry Skills: Strong knowledge of carpentry and joinery techniques, materials, and tools.
  • Technical Drawing: Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Health and Safety: Good understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in a workshop environment.
  • Machinery Proficiency: Proficiency in using workshop machinery and equipment.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
  • Languages: Fluency in English and Hindi.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree, diploma or adequate Certification in Carpentry, Joinery, Woodworking, or a related field.
